Wearing a present-day Mondeo's body, here's the first look at the next Fusion's Hybrid powertrain in the wild. While I'm not the most learned observer of such things, I don't see the standard automotive battery in that engine bay and the electronics box looks quite gigantic. I wonder if that means the Fusion Hybrid may be going plug-in.

isn't that the battery on the far right peering out from the coverings, it just has two black covers instead of a red one. Do you guys think thats it.

 

Could be, hard to tell even after staring at it awhile but it could be a battery. Definitely not the stardard Motorcraft brick Ford uses in everything else, though.
