Me too. I'm "affectionately" known around town as the "test pilot."

And I stand by my opinion that the new Tahoe interior is significantly better than any equivalent offering from Ford...so far.

Now the GMC Acadia, on the other hand...meh. Looked at the interior of one of those, and it felt REALLY cheap. Looked OK, but touch & feel were subpar. Looks good on the outside, though.

I had to go back through a couple 07 escalades and snap trim pieces back into place. Things like the sill plates and most of the buttons are really, really cheap. I drove an 07 slade with 10k miles to lunch every day for a week, it wasn't all that.

I don't know why anyone buys Escalades - giant bling-bling gas pigs with no style at all.

"Corporate Rap" is to blame.

Don't you mean "Corporate Crap"?

Yes and no. I don't think the work truck interior looks better, but the design of the more upscale GM interiors indeed appears to be a bit easier on the eyes than this. That unfortunately means this will be a step back in terms of aesthetic appeal for Ford since the current F-150's interior is the most attractive truck interior on the market IMO.

However, while GM's materials usage has gotten much better I will be very surprised if the new Ford loses it's edge here since there are still some cheap touches in the Chevy and GMC. And since the outgoing F150 and Expedition are both more ergonmically friendly inside than the new GM I would be willing to bet that trend will continue as well.

Assuming Ford doesn't botch the exterior styling, makes the huge gains in terms of powertrains we are expecting, and continues their history ofg dynamic excellence with each new model in this segment I wont be surprised if the new F-150 extends it's lead over the competition. But there are still a lot of unknowns here.
