Hey Mark, good choice with a Limited. They do look fantastic in the 1 solid color. I drove Escapes for my company car here at the dealership, and I loved them. Great with the storage space, and when you have the hitch on the back, perfect fr taking the bicycle to the park to ride. Good luck with her, you will enjoy it.
Thanks!

For me it was the internal space. The Mazda has a huge trunk but it was still a trunk. Some things just won't fit. For instance, I have an old dead TV sitting in my garage. Wouldn't fit in the Mazda but it's no problem now!

hehe, i know its a bit late... but i'm just curious. did you ever consider the mazda6 wagon? My neighbours across the street have one, looks like you could definitely fit a TV in there. Looks like it could've been the best of both worlds.. the fun driving world and the cargo capacity world.

Yeah, I did but I just have this mental block about buying a station wagon even though the Escape is, in reality, a station wagon. They've just cleverly hidden it in a truck-like package.

I will say the Mazda6 wagon is pretty sharp......for a station wagon.

i guess i could forgive you... this time.

edit: that's a sweet hiney language filter!! who chose that one? you guys realise i know swear in my posts all the time now just to see what crazyness comes out of it.

IMO, the only thing worse than a station wagon is a minivan, which is another suggestion I promptly shot down. I had a minivan when my daughter was little and I swore I'd never own another. She's about the turn 13 now and I do believe she'd have died of embarassement if I'd have bought a minivan instead of the Escape. She actually wasn't happy that I was getting rid of the Mazda6 since all her friends at school thought it was "cool"!

Well... my dad still drives that grand marquis, and I'm 21 and i think he's driving the coolest car in town. He teaches at an elementary school, and i think the kids there definitely get a kick out of that car too. Of course a Mazda6 wagon is no grand marquis...

Question: What influenced you for an Escape over a Freestyle?

Two things:

1. Price
2. Styling (the Freestyle is OK but I just prefer the looks of the Escape)

Ya...I figured price could potentialy come into play based on options.

I was more curious if internal volume was a driving factor for you.

In a way, yes, internal volume came into play but not how you think. The Escape had sufficient volume for my needs so I couldn't justify the extra cost for the additional volume in the Freestyle. From a passenger standpoint, the Freestyle, with it's third row seating, was more than I needed (I usually only have at most two passengers.

Sweet! A reasonable person who isn't buying a giant 7 passenger Suburban to cart his wife and kid around, and the one time a year birthday party, or freak evacuation tow your entire home away from disaster area or rhino attack on daily commute preparedness attitude that has everybody totally over consuming in this half of the world.

Okay, i admit i got a little carried away on that one.
Basically, I'm saying good job on riding the smaller side of the SUV wave. thumbs up!

hehe, sorry if that was at all confusing, last night was a rough night... I was just happy that you looked at what you needed and got something that fits those needs, rather than exceeds them by a mile just in case... you know.. like, just in case a rhino gets pissed off at you... better get a hummer, cause it could take a rhino. stupid rhinos...

I knew what you were saying. I was just giving you a hard time for being so "wordy".
