Ford Ranger as a Daily Driver???

I've always wanted one, I like the 04 and up(belt tension issue) 4.0 v6... I'm thinking manual on it as well...

What are your thoughts and opinions on this for a DD truck? I don't really haul anything, just would be great to bit drive the mustang everywhere and to have a bed to throw stuff in.

Really like the kobalt blue color and that grey..

The 4 cylinder ranger makes a good DD. The 4.0 get similar mileage to an F150.

I have a manual 2005 Ranger Edge V6 (grey) that was being daily driven for about 4 years and it worked great. Fuel economy isn't great, but it's not horrible either (especially for a V6). But it has close to 90k miles and is still running strong! The gear box is a bit of a pain, especially 1st, but useable.

We got the truck basically for a cheap DD and to be able to haul things when we need to, which isn't much. But I have hauled everything from motorcycles (including a motorcycle from California to Colorado) to furniture with no problems.

It's a great little truck, especially when you really can't find "little trucks" any more...

On my 3rd Ranger.
New 1993, 4 banger, stick, great mileage, didn't like hills......drove it 189,000.
New 1999, 3.0 six, stick, ok gas mileage, better for hauling stuff.......drove it 219,000
New 2007, 3.0 six, stick, current D/D, 67,581.6 miles....almost broke in. You could do worse than a Ranger for a D/D..

I think they are simply a great looking truck. I don't need a full size truck for what I plan to use it for.

I do want to find one with 4 wheel drive, XL cab with the 4.0

Any opinions on auto vs manual? Of course I love the manual in my mustang... I can't help but feel I would enjoy it just as much on a ranger(but I've driven a automatic ranger and it was nice too)

For colors... I really like the cobalt blue, dark grey, silver, and red.

I just rolled 140k on my B3000, basically a ranger. Great tough truck. I will say it's going to be hard to find 2wd manual 4.0 ranger. That is a super rare combo.

Go with a stick. The autos are not near as fun to drive.

That is a little easier to find but the manual 4.0s are still fairly hard to find. Any luck yet?

That's a steal. Any 4x4 in my area is 10k unless it is complete garbage.

It is a great price to work with.

when the funds are built up enough, hopefully in a few months time, ill be ready, but for now ill be keeping an eye out.

Deals will continue to pop up, as long as you're monitoring a few sites ha.

If all goes well with finding a ranger, I want to eventually find a pop up camper for me and my lady to go camp in the mountains.

Tried to go camping the first week we got back to colorado and all day it was nice until we arrived and started setting up our tent..

Wind was atleast 30mph + at times I had to lean against the wind to keep the tent from flying away as we are both trying to put the stakes in the ground.

Some poles got snapped but eventually we got it put together.

Had a 4x4 4.0 SOHC, 5-speed Ranger as a daily driver from 2001 to 2007, loved that truck. Cranked the torsion bars to level it off, had Bilstein shocks put on it, a K&N CAI and a chip, Gibson exhaust, and tint, and it was a blast to drive.
Yes, I wish I still had it.

Summer look, with 275/60R18 Nitto's:

And some fun shots:
