I went to an ST event sponsored by Ford this past summer and drove these on a track in a parking lot. Those seats are AWESOME.
Keep us updated on how it handles! Great looking car.

We are old and live in Metro Detroit. Perfect driving records etc. I was very surprised that the Focus cost $500 more a year to insure then our 07 Mustang GT.
The insurance company explanation was that the Focus is designed to "crush" in a collision protecting the occupants but resulting in a larger damage claim. I don't know if that's B.S. or not.
I drove an ST and was impressed, although I would opt for the base model without MFT and the Recaro's, I am 6" 175 and I think that I am the only person who prefers the standard seats.
When I checked into insurance for an ST it was $170 a year more then our Focus so close to $700 a year more then our Mustang.

I took a ST at a test event in DC last summer...great car to drive, but I wasn't too fond of the Recaro's either...I felt like the seatbacks where on the narrow side, giving me a complex that I was too fat for the car (I'm 6'2, 225ish with a 34 waist so not exactly fat) so that turned me off to the car.

I'd double check about the insurance. I went from a '02 SVT Focus to a 06 Mustang GT and my insurance went down $500! The problem is that Focus is bought by younger drivers or not so well off people (speaking in very general terms here) so they are more likely to be crashed then say a more expensive car.
Not really, see what I said above....my Mustang was CHEAPER insurance wise then the SVT Focus I had, even though it had nearly double the HP! For further insurance WTF, my 2013 Taurus SHO I'm getting costs the same as my 06 Mustang GT does to insure!
