Weak HVAC fan

My new 01 Bullitt has a very weak HVAC fan . . . .. I smell a burning electric motor . . . . It appears to be the fan motor . . .. . .is there anything else it could be? anybody in the SF Bay know have a recommended shop to fix this? What do you guys think is a fair price?

Make sure you check out for any water in the heater box. This can be caused by a clogged drain. Also check the blower motor resistor. If yours is on its way out or getting wet you could have similar symptoms.

If its none of that then i would have to agree that the blower motor is on the fritz.

Just a side note check the squirrel cage on the blower motor make sure it's not clogged up with anything (leaves, mice, etc.) Yes haha mice, that could just be causing extra weight on the motor and causing it to overheat and slow down.

HVAC FAN SN95 vs S197

Does the SN95 HVAC fan blow just as hard as the S197 HVAC fan? I have been told some cars just have a weak HVAC fan (by design) . . .. . . Are there any dual owners who can comment . . . . My SN95 fan is WEAK!

My dad's 2004 V6 AC doesn't blow as hard on high as my '91 F150 on vent. It's the weakest fan I've ever been around

You are the only guy how has a hard blowing SN95! Maybe the "new edge" SN95s have weaker fans! Do you have a comparison to a S197??

I've been in a couple S197s but never owned one so I can't really make a fair comparison. I must say there is a big difference between the '97 and the '03, I find the '97 to be very good with blowing strong and colder air than my '03.
