Upgrading the factory Mach stereo

I can't find replacement 8ohm speakers for my 2003 GT convertible so I want to replace the amps along with the speakers. I really don't want to redo the wiring so can replacement amps be connected to the factory wiring?

I suppose they probably can be. But rewiring wouldn't be very difficult, and if you're going to upgrade from the stock amps to good ones, might as well get decent wires too.

You're only as good as the wires. Cheap out on them and the whole system could be compromised! :-)

Get an aftermarket headunit and bypass the amps. The new headunit will have enough drive and power for the speakers. This way you can go and get any speaker you want to get much better sound and quality. I have a touchscreen headunit with Bose speakers all the way around.
