Trouble Starting Friends 96 Cobra

Hey everyone, I'm trying to help my friend troubleshoot his 96 Cobra. It's a black coupe. The latest issue he is dealing with is the car not starting. The starter motor will turn over, but it is not turning the engine over, and there is no power to the radio.

My guess was that the battery was just really low, however they (another friend of mine) tried jumping it for quite some time with no change in the results. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks!

if im reading it right, it turned out that the battery wasnt the problem? or is it still a possible concern?

I personally think it still could be a concern. When I was having my battery problems a while back I could jump it enough to get power to the radio and the starter motor, but I usually had to jump it for a while to get enough power to the engine to start it.

maybe try using another battery, if it starts up then maybe the battery was the issue and if it doesnt start then i'd guess an electrical issue beyond the battery..but just a guess.

He had the car towed to the local auto parts store and the consensus there was that the PAT's system had been triggered so he had it towed to the Ford dealer... still waiting to hear back from him.

It could be a dead cell in that battery. That would feed most of your lights, very dim but not enough cranking amps to turn engine over.
