Ticking on start up.

Have a tick on start up. You can hear it a little while it idles. Some jiffy lube mechanic said it's my lifters. I'm pretty sure we don't have lifters on new edge mustangs. I'm thinking it could be valve lash. What do you guys think.

PS. Had jiffy lube do my oil change because I didn't have any place to do it. My friend moved from his house with the garage.

Never go to jiffy lube. On the news the other day jiffy got busted nation wide for charging for work they dnt do. I have customers coming in to my shop daily with oils filters never changed. BS tranny flushes and brake jobs using old pads

Both the new 4.6 and 3.8/3.9 have lifters (they could be referred to by a different term, but they have the same function) so yes it could be a lifter. For starters, stay away from cheap oil filters (specifically FRAM) as I've known people who have had a similar symptom that has been triggered by use of those filters. Stick with OEM Motorcraft or my personal favorite, NAPA Gold.
