I was thinking about that, but it is just so expensive. I see that they are 130 AMP. What is the stock one?

I wanna say the one on my sixxer was 90amps. So I would say the GT it probably the 105. I think the 130 is an upgrade.

I got the one from AM as well. Been wondering if someone would buy my old one, I know they rebuild them and whatnot. Anyone know?

Also, the alt swap is probably the easiest thing you'll ever do on the car. it took me 5 minutes, and that was taking my time.

Yeah, I had to pull it for the head swap so I have experienced how easy it is. I guess I'm going with AM. Just have to wait until I get paid this weekend.

So... My motor blew up over the summer. I've been having a bunch of issues ever since, and that is why I haven't been around in a while.

sounds like its coyote time.

There was a fox GT at sonoma today with a TT coyote. He had just built it so he was running only 3psi while the motor breaks in, but still. what a machine

Coyote time is what I'm planning for mine - already have the T56 and IRS!

Eh. I dropped in another SOHC 4.6. The guy who did the labor didn't refill the A/C(the clutch on it was bad) and now the car vibrates at around 2100 RPM (aka 70mph in 5th. Convenient). I looked over a few message boards and some people were saying that an A/C could cause a vibration like that. What do you guys think?

A/c shouldn't cause vibration. Compressor won't kick on without Freon. Unless maybe it wasn't torqued down at all or something. Be sure they get oil in the compressor(at least the correct amount) along with Freon or it'll burn up your new compressor

Sorry your having so much trouble Pete. Have you checked that the transmission is torqued down all the way on its mounts. Also, on my v6, I had a similar issue when a ?weight? hanging down from the back of the t5 transmission became loose. As soon as I tightened the bolts on it the vibration went away. Not sure if the GTs had this though.

I would think if it was RPM dependent it would be less likely to be the tranny. As far as I know right now the A/C has no oil and no freon in it at all. The guy just emptied it, and I'm not sure why since I don't think it was necessary to pull the motor.

Were you able to figure out your issue?

U joints. If you have figured out the problem, I would get those checked/replaced. They will certainly cause vibration like especially at a constant speed.

I tried running down the problem, and found that the vibration is still there just less noticeable in other gears at the same RPM. Still haven't figured it out, but I have been seeing a lot of Miatas on Craigslist. Not really American Muscle, but I think it would be nice to have a car that turns on every time I turn the key and I'm not scared to drive to LA and back in. I love my car, but these headaches happen way, way too frequently in my DD.

Unfreaking believable. I went and got my car smogged yesterday. When I was driving it out of the lot it stalled out three times. I figured since they had to plug in the OBD2 port the car was just on the fritz and it would be back to normal after a couple minutes. Well I was wrong. The same cylinder is misfiring for the third time. I am getting so sick of this car. I think that I'm going to put some work into it and get it sold within the next 90 days(in California a car has to be smogged within 90 days of sale), and pick up something a little more reliable. Like I said a couple posts ago I am thinking Miata for the gas mileage, relative fun, and easy to maintain. I have a few buddies really into racing them and I would not mind having people close by who can give me a hand wrenching when I get in a little over my head. I think my patience for the Mustang scene is running on fumes here.
