I'm really trying to figure out how I want to do it, but I think I like a lot of what I have going on in that set up. It's just not very pretty, and eventually my mom is going to notice that I stole that table out of the kitchen... So I'm cutting the legs on one of those fold up tables to the right height, and possibly the legs on my chair so I have a lower seating position, and I need to either lower the pedals on the foot box or put something better than a book for my feet to rest on. Lastly I'm thinking about hacking up my other set of pedals to be able to have a clutch too, but then I'm just going to want to have an H-Pattern shifter, and I'm going to be going way too deep into this whole electronics business. bleh.

a friend of mine (he's an aerospace engineer, so its in his wheelhouse) wants me to help him build a simulator hooked up to pneumatic motors to replicate movement on the screen. That's gonna be uber sweet if it ever happens. Race seats, harness, gearbox, reverse mounted pedals, etc etc

Did the clutch free play mod today to get the slack out of my clutch cable and keep the tob off of the pressure plate since it was squeaking. So far so good. Planning on ordering MM's quadrant and firewall adjuster as a late self birthday gift tomorrow.

Get the adjustable cable also to get it just right. I have the quadrant and adjuster and it's not quite perfect.

I've heard way too many stories about stretched adjustable cables. I'll stick with this stuff for now. If I am still not happy with that I might end up trying McLeod's hydraulic set up.

whats the free play mod? how does the adjuster work? I'm getting to the point where my clutch has a ton of free play at the top of the pedal, and this is one of my next mods.

Not at all. From what I've read, the OEM one is by far the best you can get. Its the strongest and longest lasting. I also like having it adjustable because I like the clutch to let out right at the floor.

It's a spring you put around the cable between the bell and the fork to push the fork away from the pressure plate while you're not pushing the clutch.

you'd love mine then. It's so close to the floor that with some shoes that I have a hard time feeling the pedal pressure, it's hard to get a smooth transition to go forward! Makes mountain running fun though!

Yep that's how mines setup to. Basically have to hit the floor to fully disengaged the clutch

I'm the opposite, I like the clutch very high so I just tap the clutch to disengage, much faster not having the travel.
