Well just to quote MM, "Comfort begins to suffer at spring rates over 800 lb/in." To me that sounds like there isn't any problem with conventional springs up to that point.

 

The 500 lb/in I put on mine ride really nice Too bad I didn't get 600 lb/in instead. Maybe later down the road...

 

The Cobras you got are 600 lb/in.

On another note, I washed/claybared/waxed my car yesterday, and it took me a good three hours or so. Pics to follow soon.

 

The Stangsuspension site had a lot of good info. Too bad they closed shop. Bought a MM coilover kit from them and was hoping to get some more goodies. FWIW, I never thought of the Mustang's ride as being exactly comfortable at least until the S197's came out. Maybe the later Fox/SN95's-up are better in that regard since the chassis is less flexible to begin with. Hope your choice works out.

Can anyone tell the difference?




For those of you with eagle eyes, you can see there are yellowish streaks down my windshield.

That's right, I got egged, the day after I spent four hours washing, claybaring, washing again, waxing, quick washing.






It wasn't that bad, luckily, and it came off with a bit of elbow grease. Only a few eggs. Four at most, I think.

At least you had that fresh coat of wax as some protection.

 

Morons. But ya, it was probably better that it did have a fresh coat of wax.

 

That's just not cool. Time to find out who did it and return the favor. BTW, looks like your windshield has a big crack on it. Surprised you haven't been pulled over for that one.

 

I have once, as an excuse to check for "illegal modifications" but cops really don't care much about that around here, but you're right, and I do plan on getting that next after the Mach wheels, since I have a deal for them this coming weekend.

About the egging...

I was ticked, but I also am glad about having that fresh coat of wax for a little protection. It was a pain to get off, because even though I found it within two hours of it happening (time between getting home, and leaving to a party) it was already dried on and I couldn't get it off without serious motivation.

Then today I read online about how to get it off, and it was pretty intense with scratch remover and polishes and the like. Luckily I can't see anything wrong with my paint, but if worst comes to worst, I don't think my car would hate getting a good polish, and more even than that, Arin and I have a deal that when I buy paint and clear, and pay him 100 bucks he'll paint my car for me since his school has taught him to spray really well... Hope he can do a car as well as he can do those models.

I have no idea who could have done it, though. I really don't think I've pissed anyone off lately, and I think that it was probably just some kids looking to cause trouble. As mad as I was when it happened; no harm no foul as far as I'm concerned. Now, if I had to get it painted, or if it had dented something, that would be a different story, but all is good.

Just got home after a three hour drive to Sacramento and a three hour drive home to get another two Mach 1 wheels. I need center caps since now I have one good running pony, one broken running pony, and two "M" American Muscle center caps. I guess I should probably look into buying some new caps.

I'll get them on tomorrow, if the rain allows, and get some pictures.

 

How can something as mundane as putting on new wheels and lug nuts be this stupid?

So I jacked the car up, took the driver's side wheel off, put the new wheel on, and put on four of the lug nuts no problem. The fifth one I got a couple threads in, and it was being a bit of a pain, which sometimes they just do since there is some surface stuff on it, no big deal. So I put it a few more threads in before I decide "this is ridiculous, I'm gonna see what's going on. So I start to take the lug nut off, and it's dang near impossible. I finally put the car down, put the e-brake on, and after a lot of ughhs and ahhhs the thing finally came off. The threads on both are completely toast, but I don't know how it would have gotten cross threaded by hand when it was already a few threads in.

Now for the question part of the post... How do you get the lug out/put the new one in? I figure they have to be pressed out/in, but how do I get the spindle off?
