I think that's a great price for that car. Even if it is somewhat undesirable to some. Id rock it

I'm not being negative, I own a 97 GT! Truth is these 1996-98 mustangs are not the best performance car for that money. It would be worth the extra coin to buy a cobra or a 99-up GT

94 95 Gt > 96-98 Gt. 10g will buy a nice clean fox also.

I don't see the obsession with 94-95 GTs. They are no faster or better performing than 1996-98 GTs. I feel the same with the fox. The SN95 is a superior vehicle compared to the fox.

Having owned both, I have to disagree. SN may be more sophisticated, but thats about it. Simplicity has a charm all its own. Push rods for life, lol.

I agree to disagree, I too have owned both. I agree the 5.0 has great mod potential, but now over time a pi swap puts you in good company. The SN95 is much more rigid, has better brakes handling ... I loved my fox in memory but when I recently drove friend's fox and was kinda let down.

Looks are subjective but as far as how good the car is the newer the better. The SN95 was built to be an improvement over the fox.

Thats why I robbed the axles and spindles of a 95 gt as well as the calipers and rotors of a V6 new edge. Cheap 5 lug disc brake swap for a fox. And due to the fox being lighter, they work very well. My 89 is half Fox half SN95 lol.

That is pretty cool, a lot of 1996-98 buyers are also retro fitting 99-04 parts on the cheap. I've been wanting to do a pi head/intake swap on mine. With that setup these higher compression 96-98 cars make 280ish HP.

I just wish I had the time and mechanical skill to do it.

Yea, taking apart a mod engine is pretty intemidating. If it was me, I'd get a set of ported and polished PI heads. Might also have larger valves installed. And a set of comp cams. That way Itd only have to be done once. Lol.

Mod motor is no more difficult. It's just different. Actually pretty simple. Only daunting part is the timing chains. But they all come marked along with the sprockets for fairly easy assembly. A lot of regular maintenance is easy. Tune up takes no time, coils, wires and plugs can be done in minutes. Cam changes on the SOHC can be done with out even pulling the front cover.

It was sold at an auction where people like to over pay for vehicles. 11K is well on the high side for that car. And low mileage on an older car never guarantees future reliability. That car sat for a long period of its life, who knows what seals etc could be bad. And I believe you were the negative one
