Mecum offering 18k miles '97 GT
I wonder what this will go for. To be sold April 4 at about 2:50 P.M. I really like that color too.

No wonder it has so few miles, its a first gen 2v with an automatic...not much fun to be had there. :jester:
How much would a car like that go for?
This seems a little bit odd for a Mecum auction, I feel like I could buy something like this on eBay?

Oh .. I'll be at Barrett-Jackson on 4th .. not Mecum ..
I bet it sells for under $10,000.
SOLD for $11,000 plus the buyer's premium of 6% which brings it up to $11,660 total if my math is correct. Nice purchase!!
Personally I love the look of the 1994-98 Models but the 99-04 models perform so much better
I'm surprised someone would pay that much for one.
I agree there is a Guy in my neighborhood that has been trying to sell his 1998 cobra with 30k on it for $12000 and this car is absolutely perfect, rare color (Atlantic blue) and all the original paper work
I'd buy it if I had the money and a place to put it. A GT on the other hand is still justva GT and nothing really collectable. |
Some of you don't quite understand the great deal this is for a used car. Forget performance, forget mods, just think used car. Imagine if you were a college student that needed a ride for the next 4 years, or a lower income individual looking for solid transportation for the next 4 or 5 years to get to work. This Mustang GT has it's entire drivetrain life ahead of it for the new owner. Even if it lasted only 100k miles the new owner has 82,000 miles to go with probably minimal repairs. What can you get like that for $11,000?? I'd sure like driving an apparently 'excellent condition' Mustang GT over a cheap foreign job. Why put down the very cars you own? I don't get it.

Strong money, but there is someone happy to have it.

I would much rather spend less money on a newer Gt with higher miles. I am a college student and I was looking for a good ride last year after selling my 67. However, I would only consider a SN95 cobra or NE GT.
