Can anyone help?

This morning I noticed that the map lights were not turning off in the car. rather than have a dead battery, I have pulled the fuse. I can think of only 2 reasons why they should be on permanently. Either of the door switches might be faulty, or the headlight switch. Tqo questions, has anyone else had this problem and how did they solve it, and how the heck do the door switches work?

Any help appreciated

James

I had this problem in my 94, but I believe I did the same thing you are doing, and just took the bulb out. The door switches are typically little metal plunger type things located infront of the door, but on the actual car body. Basically open your door, follow the inside door panel to the front, and then look on the car frame area just in front of the door, you should see it there. Since it is a simple switch I would venture to guess that there is some way you could take the plunger assembly out, and jumper the wires in order to test each switch, but I may be wrong on that. The sn95's may activate the maplight if the trunk is registering as open as well, but once again, I am not sure.

this switch is actually in the body at the other end of the door, it is recessed in and seems to work by a magnet???

Thanks anyway

I just discovered the same thing in my 2006 V6. I was gonna contact the dealer about it soon. I was surprised to see this thread in the sn95 section. You are talking about a 2006 V6 right?
I'll let you know what i discover.
