Horn Alarm Going Off ( Shop Manual pdf's For Alarm & Door Lock System}

Just bought a 1996 Cobra and after pressing the door lock button on the key chain, the horn sounds off in 30 seconds. I tried replacing the theft alarm module in the trunk with no change, and the door ajar switches seem to be functioning normally. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Post a Pic of The Transmitter Fob Please!

Sometimes Ford Would use a Hybrid Style Transmitter Which Would Integrate FORD FACTORY ALARM with FORD DEALER INSTALLED Alarm. That is a Different Can o Worms. A Quick Visual Will tell Me Which One it Is!

Does the horn sound off only when pressing the door lock button on the keyfob or does it also sound off when pressing the door lock manually on the door itself? Otherwise, if it's only when using the keyfob, consider replacing the battery with a new one and see if that fixes the problem, if it doesn't, then you'll more than likely require replacement of the keyfob...

I tried the 2nd keyfob and the same thing happened. When manually locking the doors, the alarm does not sound.

Then you need to follow up with Kevin (KC) My guess is the keyfobs more than likely are not the original/factory keyfobs for your "96" Cobra and would therefore require reprogramming thru your local Ford dealership in order to function properly...
