Hood Pin Appearance Kit or No Hood Pin Appeaance Kit?

Okay...question of the day (posted here because the V-6 forum DOA). Mustang performance makes a "Hood Pin Appearance Kit". The Kit uses 3M adhesive to attach stainless steel "hood pins" to the hood. The wires then go out and under the lip of the hood to attach on the underside. Too ricey?????? I think they look really good on the 05 forward, but I have an 04 Comp Orange (already modded with a grill delete and Mach 1 Chin up front). I would love some input, with pros and cons on this one. Thanks much.

You will get more cons than pros on this topic. CDC also sells the appearance stick-on hood pins and I have been back and forth on getting them for my car because I like the look. I probably won't get them only because it drives me crazy that I have a non-functional hood scoop already. JMO~

The stick-on nature is what makes it kinda tacky. If you were willing to install actual pins that went through the hood, that would be pretty cool, and I think it would look good too. But hey, who's gonna know if it's stick-on unless you open the hood? If you like it, than put it on.

The problem with stick on is that everyone will automatically think they are stick on.

I think they would 'look' good, but I don't like putting non functional 'faux' equipement on my car. And I hate drilling holes in my car, so for now, I'm not getting them. After I get a few more rock chips in my hood, I might change my mind and get the real deal. Then again, the real ones cost more, and are harder to instal.

But once on, they look awesome.

Get real hood pins but leave the strings and pins themselves out so its just the rod that goes through the hood and the chrome circular base, a mach owner i saw did that and it looked cool and he doesnt have to worry about paint damage, plus the hood still functions like stock!
