It's disappointing but no big deal. Your insurance company should cover it without a deductible. I would not take it to a Ford dealer, but a proffesional shop that specializes in auto glass business.
I'll second that. A reputable and professional glass shop would probably be my first choice.

All good! Called the Insurance agent this morning. Everything is cool. Should cost $400.00 to get fixed. The glass company offers a $100.00 towards my deductable, and use OEM glass and do excellent work. (Called a few body shops who sub-contract the glass replacer.)

The State of Ohio is a state the does use your deductable for windshield damage. The State of Kentucky does not.

Edit: Called the glass replacement people . . . they'll only charge me $375.00 to replace my windshield (cash) using OEM window with mustang logos!! Even better!!

As an insruance agent CSR...I would advise you not to use your insruance for this, AT ALL. It will raise your premium...just to let you know...in Az for a glass claim it will raise it about 5$/month. Not much, but you are spending an extra 60$ month for this (in my state anyway).

Thanks everyone for your input.

Glass was replaced on Saturday morning. They (Ryan's All-Glass) did a wonderful job!

I must admit when he started taking off the trim around the doors, and cowl, I started to get nervous. He stated that the 99-04 Mustangs are some of the toughest windows to replace. Not because it is difficult, but because of all the labor required to get to the windshield.

Anyway, Got correct Carlite OEM glass for $376.32. I'm happy. But the glass replacement cut deeply into my Borla Stinger fund!! :notnice:

Got to agree with this, if you can afford it.

Living in the DC area and having to drive on the beltway, you almost come to expect glass cracks as an annual event, kind of like the changing of seasons.

Also we have a $500 deductible, so it comes out of our pocket anyways.

The REALLY amazing part is when you tell the glass company that you and not the insurance company is paying for it, we seem to get a much lower price than the insurance estimate. Kind of strange, huh....

Evil--hope the repair was done well and that no one can ever tell it was changed.

Really glad it turned out well. Other then dents and dings, a cracked windshield is on of the things I really hate ... But, glad they had OEM glass to repair it with ...

Evil_Capri,

Glad it worked out...when my windshield had a crack from a rock being thrown at it, I used Ryan's All Glass. They were on the ball, asking me if it was the windshield with the pony logo. It looked fine after the repair.

Several weeks later, a giant styrofoam board flew off a pickup truck, which hit the right front of the car at 60mph. I got a new right headlight and mirror and buff job to remove most of the scratches. AAAAHHHH!

For future reference, I use Cincinnati Car Star Collision in Blue Ash for body repair work. Hope you never have to use 'em!

Talking

Man I am so pumped . . .

I'm going to take the Mach to the strip tonight for 'Test & Tune'!!

I am so excited. It has been over 2 years since I have driven on the track (2nd Capri), and over 3 years since I drove a manual at the track (1st Capri). I am so full of adrenaline it is scary!

I am not expecting too much. Anything under 13.9 and I'll be happy. That's why they call it 'Test & Tune'!

Any tips? (Make sure Traction Control is OFF!! )

I'll post when I get home, and IF i do real well I'll scan in my slip!

Jason

VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways, tips.. drive around the water. Not through it. You will be on street tires, you dont need it at all.

Dont burn your tires out alot.. just spin em over good (2-3sec burst) to clean em. May want to lower your rear pressure to about 25, but start out at your initial street pressure first.

When you stage, dont worry about your r/t, just worry about the launch. R/t doesnt effect your e/t and mph.. that only counts in bracket racing.

On the launch, ride the clutch out while keeping the rpm's up. your gonna have to ease into the throttle i think. Just keep trying till ya figure out what works for you.

Get as many runs in as possible. practice makes perfect.

I left the Camera at home! :notnice:

Along with my air presure gauge! :notnice: Though I should be able to borrow one.

I am going up by myself, though there are suppose to be some Mustang guys going from a local club.
