Can Six disc changer from an 03' fit into a 97'?

Ok guys here is my situation. I got a free 6 disc changer from my friend's 03' GT. It is the same unit that is used in my 03' Cobra now my question is it possible to retro fit the changer into the dash of a 97' GT? I know I will need brackets and wire harnesses and maybe a couple other mods but do I have serious work ahead of me on such a swap. Has anyone here attempted to do such a thing? Any help I can get would be great, thanks in advance.

I'm not entirely sure, but from looking at Petes SN and comparing the interior and console to my new edge, one would think its a doable swap...

anyone else have any info?

if you can get the bezel and shifter surround from one that has the 6 disc changer that will handle fitting it. but I dont know about the wiring part of it. If you could get a harnes from a donor car you could prob make it work. pull your old one out and try and hook up the 6 disc changer and see what happens

Yeah I'm going to a Mustang junkyard this weekend to try to get a bezel and shifter surround depending on the cost of those items i will then check into the wiring harnesses but i'm not optimistic

I'm looking to find a wiring harness from the after market that may do the trick but along with the bezels i'm starting to think I might be better off buying an aftermarket CD deck......... I would have never thought that this would be such a difficult swap. These interior parts are hard to find at a fair price. I need the center stack bezel, shifter bezel....dead fog light, traction control buttons........ Ive have compared the interiors of both my 97' and my 03' and it looks like it can definently be done anyone know or have some used bezels or harnesses i could pick up at a "friend" price????

If you go to SN95Forums.com and search for "double din" then you will find more than enough information to do your swap. If you want to ask them any questions, but don't want to sign up for another forum I would be more than happy to relay your questions onto their site.
