Bogging down when tryng to break em loose..

Alright, am I worrying for nothing? 2004 GT, exhaust, throttle body/plenum, 3.73 rear, JLT CAI, 315 sumotomo(how ever you spell them)... Rolled down to 2nd reved to about 3k to break tires loose, it just chirped then bogged down to nothing until I let up and punched it again then shot out of there... The road was a pretty course surface... Any ideas?

Did you shut off the traction control before trying to spin the tires?

Hey Ezleroy,

I'm glad you got that figured out! On another note, make sure that when you turn off the traction control, that you are holding down the brake, and depressing the button for 10-15 seconds, that will turn everything completely off!

Some people make the mistake of simply tapping it, which turns the traction control off, but advance track stays on.

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions!

He has a 2004 GT ... which doesn't have the same system as the 2011+ cars that you describe.

The 2004 has a TC button at the bottom of the center console, in front of the shifter ... it's only an on/off button ... holding it down does nothing extra

You are completely correct Gabe, I thought this was posted in 11-14!

Thank you!

OP still definitely wants to turn off his T/C, he just does not need to hold it as you said.

If anyone needs anything, let me know!

It is not!

If I am not mistaken, you only need to hold the button down on the 2011+ cars.

My girlfriend has a 2007 GT and all we need to do is press the button. Once it says off, you are ready to burn rubber!

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions!
