I think the 5.0 mounts perfectly well...if not you just need a 94-95 k-member.

but the question is...why would you want to put a 5.0 in?...the 4.6 is such a smoother and more efficent engine.

Actually, the question should be....How the heck did it get THAT low on oil in the first place? Was a woman driving it and not paying attention?

J/k dude....sorry to hear about your motor.

Go with 4.6. Much easier and the time you save you could be be put to good use by putting a blower on it. Sorry to hear car out of commision.

You might want to be careful with engine swaps. My brother has a v6 stang and it messed up and he wanted to put a v8 in it and he was told that he couldnt (due to emmisions and what not). remember that the newer cars have more electronics in it that need fixing also. If you dont have lot of time and money id put a 4.6 back into it.

2 cams on a '99 GT!?
Now, I'm quite sure they are SOHC.
Not EVERYONE can be lucky enough to have the DOHC Mystic Cobra status, Scott!
Speaking of which, lately I have been seeing a '96 Mystic Cobra around my house. Makes me wonder if it's the one I remember seeing at 10 years old at the Dealership... might be!

He said 2 cams. On a SOHC there is a cam in each head...so you have 2 cams. a cobra has 2 cams per head for a total of 4 cams.

Well a 5.0 mod motor with some big cams would be loud and unrefined. 5.0's have there charms, but the mod motor is suprrising me every day.

Big cams, ported heads, high compression on a 5.0 Mod motor and your talking 420 to 500 hp

Try 500 hp with a big nasty cam, ported E7TE's and high compression in 5.0 windsor. Not gonna happen with out some chemical or pressurized help.
