Tomorrow will be my last chance to run at Sonoma this year. fingers crossed!

Also, finally began the first stages of fixing the Bullitt's body damage this week. New passenger side headlight and retainer clips are on their way. The originals are broken where the pins go through the loop (plus the pins are lost..) so its been held in with aluminum and packing tape.

After that, onto the fenders

If they had the Mickeys on them. They would grip a little better

No dice

I was launching timidly early today, 2000-2500 and was running 14.3s again. I missed third on one of those runs and got a 15.2

However, on my first bracket run I dumped it at 4K and holy **** it launched hard. I was 2-3 car lengths ahead of another bullitt with the JLT until Arin decided to "powershift" Missed third AGAIN and ran a 14.6. still, 2.1 60' which i think is my best so far, but if I hadn't missed a gear I would at least have beat the other bullitt. He caught up and started to pass me. he dialed in a 13.7 and I was shooting for a 14.0 so (according to the timeslip) I lost by .08 of a second

If the .9 second discrepancy between missing third and not on my light launches was any indication, that means my 14.6 would definitely have been into the 13s. Granted, I would have broken out and been DQ'd anyway, but at least I'd have had that glorious timeslip instead of disappointment lol.

In any case, it was pretty fun. There was a maverick painted like a 70s van and just had star wars scenes airbrushed all over it Also the other bullitt had an 01 cobra bumper, shaved, 03 rear bumper and actual deleted sidescoops. He actually did the metal work to make it entirely clean and it looked siiiccckkk. I'll try and get pics/vids up soon. my friend Will came along and got vids of the 14.3 and 14.6 runs, so you can definitely see the launch and how far ahead I... was until an overzealous moron decided he NEEDED to powershift.

On the plus side overall though, my 60's are dropping and I can really see those DRs work. If I had tried to launch at 4k last week, I'd have made a lot of noise smoke and gotten an even worse time. I also noticed that even when I was hitting the 14.3s again, my trap didnt get above 97 today. the worst was at 93. Any ideas why it would drop so much?

Morals of the day? Drag Radials WORK and powershifting is stupid

Now I've got to wait til spring to try again, but hopefully by then the fiberglass fenders will be on. I'd also really like to finally get some LCAs to aid the launch more, and gears would be nice too. The other bullitt also had 3.73s, which he said he really liked. Still, any day racing is better than a day of not racing lol

Just gotta work on the power shifting. It's worth a tenth or two at the track. Should be able to get at least into the 1.8's with the DR's you would be around 13.5 if you can get your 60's down.

I've been wanting to delete the sidescoops completely since...forever. That Bullitt has the same bumpers as me too!

I just found out that my earlier statement was wrong. I have ONE more chance to break into the 13s on December 1st. I am definitely heading back up because this time I KNOW I can do it.

If anyone in the area (or not I guess) wants to come with, DOOOEEEEEEEET

In order to ensure that my goals are achieved, I also ordered a set of J&M street/race LCAs. These have one poly and one spherical bushing, so it should be the best compromise for handling and drag performance. Thanks to Nathan and American muscle's kickin deals I got it all for less than $200.

Some less than great news... Yesterday began the install for my J&M LCAs. because of the shennanigans that ensued the night before (friend from out of town + another friend's 21st happenned, and I was DD) I woke up pretty late. By the time I got any work started it was already getting dark, so after disassembly, when the sun was setting, I stopped for the night.

Started up again this morning only to learn some interesting things. First, as some of y'all know, the KW coilover kit I have is only really coil-over-shock in the front. In the rear it is similar to the stock setup, but with a cup/adjustable spring perch that fits on the factory LCA's spring perch. this is how you raise/lower the rear. Unfortunately... the outter diameter of the spring perch on the J&M is slightly larger than on the factory stamped piece and the adjustable perches do not fit over them. I put it all back together with the factory LCAs for now, since I am leaving for Infineon in a few minutes.

My thoughts to solutions are as follows:

Get different rear springs and use them without the adjustable perch. This is probably the cheapest option.

Return my J&M Street/race LCAs and get a set of adjustable spring perch ones. This would allow me to retain my springs that are paired with the KW shock and still have the ability to adjust them up and down.

New rear spring and shock combo. this is the most expensive prospect and might lead to a handling imbalance since the KWs were designed as a system.

I'm about to go empty all the excess crap out of my car and head out, but in the meantime, suggestions and comments would be most boss.

All I want for Christmas this year is the guarantee that all the parts I ever buy explicitly for my car will fit and install properly. Fat chance though lol
