Doe anyone know, or have tried, to put component speakers behind this gril...in replacement of the 5x7 (?) speaker?

I like round component speakers better than reg. oval speakers; and I want to know if its possible to fit...for example...a 4" or 5.25" speaker and 1" tweeter.

I did this on a Ford Thunderbird I used to have. I had to make some custom brackets out of MDF in order to make them fit. The problem with the Stang is that the mounting depth may be too shallow for a good component speaker to fit.

If I remember right, the ones that come with the shaker 500 are component of sorts...there's definitely a separate tweeter and woofer (or mid...whatever). I owe a lot of ppl some pics on here of that hardware...I'll try to get it all back this weekend.
