Will these 8" Subs Fit in the door?

I'm looking to replace the 8" subs in the doors. I have the Shaker 1000, and I think I blew out the passanger side sub. I've been wanting to replace them anyway I figure now is the time. I couldn't find many 8" subs with dual voice coils, accept the Kicker CompVR. I wanted to know if anyone has install these...I need to know if they fit. Crutchfield says that they are about 4.75 inches deep. Here's the link if you want to check them out:

Thanks!!

I used the Rockford Fosgate P18S4 subs in the factory sub location. These show a mounting depth of 4.125". However, when mounting them I removed the magnet / drive cover to gain a little more room.

Still some minor modifications were needed in order to get them to fit.

In the bottom of the door enclosure you will find a small nub where the mounting screw for meets the sub on that factory setup. I cut this out and in order to make the bottom flush. Then sealed it using some plastic and epoxy. Next I used a heat gun to soften up the enclosure and pushed / molded the enclosure using the RF sub as a guide. Took about 30 minutes per door.

The answer is no, the Kickers will not fit. Even with modifying the enclosure, 4" to 4-1/4" is all you will be able to get as far as clearance is concerned. If you go bigger than 4", you will need more than a heat gun adjustment. There are no dvc - 2ohm replacement subs that will fit. Most that have replaced the subs, like I have, have added an amp and cut into the factory wiring. A better bet is to add a sub with amp in the trunk.

I think Kicker sells a DVC 2ohm version of this same model. Still will not fit without serious modification.

i personally hate the look of the factory speaker covers and i havent found anything in the aftermarket i like either so replacing with a decent looking 8" sub isn't a bad alternative, svc or what have you. i have the shaker 500.. where is the stock amp that powers these lower dr speakers?

there are two amps located in the drivers side kick panel for the two door subs.
