70% looks like the stock window, my guy should be it here in los angeles(the legal limit is 70% or 75% also) i dont know how new york police are but i have had no problems here (knock on wood) with 22% all around

 

Next time you see a NY State Trooper.... Look at the car... that's the legal tint. Our K9 vehicles have dark tint to keep the dog cool but the regular Troop Cars have max legal tint on them with the exception that you are allowed to put whatever you want tint wise on the back window as long as you have two side mirrors. Stickers are illegal but limo tint is ok.

I'm big on tint because it's an officer safety thing much more than it is about the driver being able to see at night. You can pretty much guarantee that if I see a tint violation... I'm stopping it. No saying you're getting a ticket but I'm surely going to talk to you and find out what type of person you are and if you have any issues.

 

Just installed 20% Llumar window tint. Illegal... yes, but what are you going to do

That looks real nice... now I just have to find a good tint place... the dealership did an ok job with my Ranger but it was free so I'm not complaining about the 1/32" gap up the back edge of both windows.

 

I have 35% on mine, no problems yet, I'm also in MN.

I have heard that if you have illegal tint and you got into an accident, your insurance company can pretty much automatically deny your claim. This totally makes sense to me but is that true?

 

I'm going to get mine tinted this coming Thursday. 20% on the back window and since it's against the law to tint the driver/passenger side I am going to do 50% on them and the quarter windows. It will be hard for the police to tell I have them done at all and I think it will look very clean.

I don't know what you guys are paying but this is going to cost me $225 with the installation of moleskin or whatever they use on the doors and remounting the CDC 3rd brake light in the rear window.

 

That's what I paid with felt installed. Your car will look even better tinted.

Nice guys!!! Had mine done and on the winshield too, anyone else do the stripe across the top of the windshield??? It really helps with the sun in your eyes especially in the desert!
