Has anyone installed a short throw manual shifter for there 05 V6? Does anyone know if the GT shifter works with the V6 manual tranny?

I called Steeda about the one they make. They told me the GT one won't work, but they are working on the V6 one. The guy said to check back in May. I don't know about any of the other companies.

does the V6 have a different shift feel than the GT? I have olny driven the V6, and I assumed it was the same as the GT.

Yes the GT shift is different. I have driven a GT and V6 manual. The GT has a short throw shifter meaning shifting gear to gear it takes a shorter time as opposes to the V6 tranny. With this short throw the shifter itself sits shorter as opposed to the V6 which sits with a long shift stick.

If this confuses you find a GT and/or V6 and compare yourselves.

Does Ford call it a short-throw? I assume you are just saying that the throws are shorter than the V-6, but the throws on the GT are L-O-N-G.

Yea, I got my GT, and I see. It has a much shorter throw than the V6.
