Shaker 500 door subs not working after radio install

Just installed my DUAL XDVD8281 on Sunday and everything works fine but the door subs. I installed everything according to the wiring diagram but might have neglected to connect the cable to the amp. Can anyone tell me where the factory amps for the Shaker 500 are located / post some pictures? Any input welcome!

I think you need some 12v-5v converter from radioshack. Not sure on the details, someon'll chime in

They're in the driver side footwell. They're mounted to the left-side-wall (the side towards the exterior of the car). If you stick your head under there, you should see two identical metal rectangles about 4 times as large as a pack of cigarettes or maybe a little larger than a 3.5" hard drive. (Trying to find easy reference sizes..) They're pretty hard to miss. Only two identical rectangles about that size. One for each door sub.

If you used one of the adapter harnesses ... you should have used the power antenna lead or accessory lead (I forget which one) to turn on your amps. The amps are not powered by the HU ... they are merely turned on via a 5V signal from the HU ..

Thanks everybody, when I was at work, my buddy figured it out and now it works like a charm. Now just one more trip to Radioshack to get rid of that popping noise...

Hey Ben! Is the overall sound quality improved by adding this deck? Is everything else stock? What brand is it?

Thanks!

Hey Steve, it's a DUAL XDVD-8281:

Sound is much better than stock, and I just changed the HU, kept the stock speakers and subs...
