Scratched tint Felt or no felt

I know the process of installing it has been discussed but i was wondering how many people have gotten scratches with and without the felt or velcro

I have had both. I had the windows tinted without the felt and within 2 weeks had scratched to hell tint. Took it to the dealership and showed them the problem. They actually sent me to another tinter who installed the felt (just like factory felt) and they charged it to FORD as warranty. Then went back to my tinter who re-tinted for free. No scratches since and that was about 2 months ago.
Bottom line, get felt or it WILL scratch.

had felt for about 1 year and passenger window has very minor scratch...you can only see it if the sun is right behind the window.

The windows have been tinted since the week I bought the car (10 months ago) and do not have the felts and I don't have one scratch. Guess it all depends on the installer?
