Jim,

i am not sure, if you also need to swap the passenger side module. Try disconnecting that one and see if the reading is more accurate, once you installed the 2010 fuel pump.

One BIG problem I'm going to have is that IDS can't communicate with the 13 cluster while it is in the 05 car.

Maybe I can swap it into my 12 and program it there and then put it back into the 05?

That's the best way to do it. I had the same issue when i put the 2013 ABS module in. IDS couldn't communicate with it, so i needed to go in with a 2011+ PCM code.

Since the car doesn't need to be running, I don't have to mess with PATS, so it should be OK.

The difference was Ford reversed the resistance readings on the sending unit starting in 2010 so a 2010+ specific sending unit was required for the fuel guage to function properly.
Well, I bought Lex's pump, so we'll see if you are right. Makes sense to me, but I am still befuddled as to why 11-14 pumps aren't recognized as my 13 cluster reads my fuel levels in my 12. And these clusters do read 13-14 fuel pump signals

The sending unit is the same, but the pump is different

More clearer:
The 05-10 have the same pump
The 11+ have a different pump
The 05-09 have a different sending unit than the 2010-2014.
2010-2014 have the same sending unit.
Questions?

Going away for a few weeks. Not going to be able to do much on this until then.

Doesn't seem to be much interest in this, though. I would have thought there would be many wanting to do this mod?

I'm following, but I think the work looks a bit complicated for my technical abilities.

I'm interested as well. I'm sure there's plenty of interest, but this is beyond the skill level of most. I don't have the time or space to tinker these days, but I'd be willing to give it a shot if y'all are able to work out all the kinks.

If there was a final solution and someone said "Here's what you need kit"
If the price was right, well...maybe....maybe

But reading this, you guys are WAY above my talent and dedication level. A lot of people appreciate it, myself included!

Zeroaviation will be offering the black box through Redliners Performance just as he offers the black box for 10 - 12 Mustang owners. It should be fairly straight forward, but will take some time to get it all sorted out. I'm hoping by the fall.

I'd echo those comments. Heck, if somebody could build a plug/play harness to do this, I'd happily pay.

I'm working on it... Got a local guy with a 06 that I can use to grab data from. Jim010 sent me a 05 cluster, and I already have a 10 cluster. So now is just connecting the pieces..

Cheers,
-Matt

Doesn't the 10 use different data than the 11-14?

If so, I can send you a 12 cluster.

The 10 cluster is pretty similar to a 2011+... Except for gauges TrackApps etc... Same thing.
Remember Jim, the 2010 is a 2011+ except for the drivetrain. All body modules are the same.

Other words: the cluster is plug and play between 2010-2014. Exceptions are gauges and TrackApps due to the different PCM.

The fuel pump arrived today. I'll be fitting it when I get back.

Matt, which pigtail do you need - 05-09 or 10-14? I haven't located a 05-09 one yet. Wreckers are not willing to cut up harnesses. I am in contact with TE Connectivity to see if I can get one.

Alex, any luck with stampings on the 10-14 connector?

05-09 is preferred. Let me know what TE Connectivity says.
