REPLACING SPEAKERS

I need anyones help, never replaced speakers in a car before how easy is it to change the front and back speakers in the car. I bought two sets of pioneer a6870r speakers do I need any kind of adapter, im getting my car tommorow so im not sure what to expect. I have one set of speakers that has an adapter on it but one set doesnt. anyone info or help is greatly appreciated

No adapter needed for those. The car will accept either 5 x 7 or 6 x 8 speakers in the doors and rear deck. Just be sure to remove the old screw holders in the rear deck and use some bolts and lock washers / nuts in the rear. You will be much happier without the vibrations after using these...

do i need to cut the existing wires running to the old speakers and then just connect them to the new speaers. how do i wire them to the car

someone posted this previously regarding wire colors.

Tan/Yellow is - and Grey/Light Blue + on left rear.

Orange/Red is + and Brown/Pink is - on right rear.

I put Alpine SPS-570A in Rear and Pioneer TS-A6880R in the doors. Sounds great. Really easy install. The door panels are slow to remove but, took my time and it went great. Both speakers fit great. The Pioneers fit like factory, the Alpines have elongated holes for adjustment. Use the link in this thread for the removal of the door panels. I also bought the speaker harness' to avoid cutting the factory wires. Really made the job much faster and easier.

Thanks.....I bought the Kenwoods and will be replacing the tired old factories soon!
