Talked to a tint shop today and I was impressed with his work and his concern for a near perfect job. Problem is, he said he removes the door panel to do his tint. With all the threads about the difficulty in removing the panel, it has me worried. Anyone else ever heard of this?

I just had mine tinted this past saturday, and they didn't remove any interior panels. They just tricked the window sensor so the window didn't roll down a little when they opened the doors.

It depends on the guy doing it. I don't really see a problem with it.

The door panels do not need to be removed. The guy is just wasting his time and most likely charging you more to do this as well.

They did a great job on mine without removing the door panel.
By the way, he mention that some don't do the rear window with one piece like he does.

Thanks. I forgot to ask him about that. (number of pieces for the rear.)

As for the price, he's actually one of the lowest in town. I told him I wasn't as concerned with price as I was quality.

what does it cost to tint windows? I have never had it done or even looked into it, but am thinking that it may look good.

The back window on the new stang is very easy to do with 1 piece. If the shop uses more than 1 piece they are morons and should get out of the business.

Called today to set up an appointment for Thursday. Yeah, he said one piece was easy a Mustang.

As for the price, it depends on where you live and who's doing it. Could be anywhere from $100-$250. That's just for five windows. It can cost more to do the front or have the tint doubled. Also, there are some more expensive tints out there.
