I will definitely be tinting my windws. New Mexico allows down to 20% all around, but think I would like to have a bit lighter (darker than 35% though). Most importantly to me is blocking UV light (anyone seen just how BLUE the sun is in Albuquerque during the Fall???) and IR to keep the interior is great shape and cool.

Needless to say, this is going to be my baby, so I want to use only GREAT film, not that crap that turn purple after a few years or causes distortion. Any recommendations for film manufaturer and type and also does anyone have any suggestions for quality tinit shops in the Albuquerque area?

Formula one, ultimate series full metal tint.

http://www.formulaone.com/

It does not appear silver even though it's a full metal tint. Great product, I had 38 all the way around and plan on getting it again on the GT. It's very durable, has a good warrenty and looks great. No bubbles, no peeling cracking or color change. All dyed films will fade or change color over time, full metal tints will not. Also has enhance uv and heat rejection over dyed films. Costs a bit more but worth it IMO.

I got my other stang done at "BEST TINT" here in Albuquerque.
its on Menual and wyoming
They did a great job Just wish I had gotten my 05 done there now.

I had mine done at the Dealer thinking that would of been the best place to get it done. Boy was I wrong :notnice: It has tiny bubbles is certain spots,
It has a lifetime warranty. They said it was supposedly because of it being to cold out and once it warms out most of the bubbles would go away also that they will fix it but I will have to drop the car of for the day.
Also Today I noticed a scratch going down the window on the passenger side door from rolling it down %@$%* Its like something behind the door panel scratch it.
I read some where on this forum about someone that had the same issue with there 05.So it might be some kind of isue with some of the 05's

I was going to wait till it warmed up some before getting it fixed but after seeing that scratch on the tint I am taking her in Monday.
Little imperfections like those will drive me nutz...

Thanks for the info 05FSTBK. What type of film did you get? I am leaning towards a cermic film (no radio interference and I like the way it looks) if possible.

On the 05 the tint was called Brilliant.
I got 20% and put 5% on the small back windows. I don't know if it was a ceramic film or not..they said it will never turn purple like a lot of cheap films will.
My guess all decent tint places use a quality film.

That one shop that I had good luck with. Had a few different tints, my guess is they probably will have ceramic film
but be honest I am not sure. I had it done like 4 years ago and the tint still looks great

But they do good work I know that much.
They quoted me like 145$ with a lifetime guarantee of coarse.

you have to wash your windows with only tint safe window cleaner. that is how you can keep it from turning purple.
