PAC AUX-BOX2 - IPod Adapter

Has anyone tried to install a PAC AUX-BOX2. This allows for a audio interface for use with an IPOD or other RCA input device. After following the simple directions that came with the kit, it seemed to work fine for about half a day. After that, it was like the dash board crashed. The trip computer on my car states that the emergency break is on, the oil pressure is low, and the battery is dead. The fuel guage does not work. The turn signal indicators do not flash on the display. The stereo lights stay lit all the time, even when the car is turned off. My converitable top will not go down. I have contacted PAC's technical support. They are aware of the issue and state they do not have a solution to the problem at this time. They stated they have seen similar issues with other customers.

Does anyone who has bought one of these see similiar problems? Does anyone know of to fix the problem. Any help would be creatly appreciated.

Thanks

Man that is a freakin' tragedy, my condolences. They really need to take responsibility.

Sounds like tapping into the wrong wire, like a computer signal instead of a regular 12v hot/ground. Is everything still broken when you disconnect the adapter?

Everything goes back to normal the second you disconect the AuxBox. It cant be that I tapped into the wrong wire. They box just connects to the factory plugs going into the headunit. They another set up plugs go into the headunit.

Okay, I'm very interested to understand the end of this story, but I can't decode that last sentence. Please repost with some detail. I'd also like to hear how this particular unit hooks up to the systems. Do you have an 05, 06, or 07?? I have an '05 and haven't found a clean way to get ipod audio into the shimmy 500 as of yet.
