For about $10 more you can get the Pioneer Premier FH-P800BT that has a 2 year warranty plus comes with the ipod cable and a few other features. That's what I put in the wife's Pony.

Ran a comparison on the two and the only differences are 1 vs 2 year warranty, and the 800 has an internal amp off mode, 8000 doesn't. What is an internal amp off mode?

You can shut off the internal amps if you are running external amps. The extra warranty and the ipod cable which also allows you to plug in a USB pen drive(that costs $20 if you buy separate)were worth the extra $10 bucks to me.
Plus I've heard that some vendors are not charging any more for the Premier deck than the regular Pioneer deck. Here's the comparison link.

No, I picked it up at radio shack.

I don't believe that was available when I bought mine. In fact, Crutchfield is not yet carrying it still. Otherwise, I'm sure I would've opted for that one. But I'm perfectly happy with the one I have. Already had the ipod cable.

I live in Canada and bought from a local dealer where a freind of mine works(Graeme @ JB's Powercenter in Edmonton). The Blu-tooth hands free works awesome in my wife's convertible, even with the top down the phone still sounds good. The mike is mounted in the center gauge cluster and the USB wire goes to the console storage bin.

I bought the FH-P800BT. Great unit. Kinda weird having no presets, just something to get use to. What do you guys have your echo cancellation set at?

What do you mean no presets? I've got EQ presets, FM station presets, and phonebook presets.

Yes physical presets like most head units have. No opinion on the bluetooth setup?

The bluetooth setup.... I haven't messed with echo cancellation or anything like that yet. I tried downloading my phonebook and it only gets through the 1st 24 entries for some reason. Others have had no problem. I have a Samsung SCH-u740 (aka the Alias) so I don't know if its the phone or not. I put the microphone here:

Its nice an high and out of sight. Mine doesn't echo, maybe its because of where it is, or the headliner absorbs some of the sound? The other nice thing about it is that you don't get wind noise up there when the windows are open and the best part: they can hear your engine when you stomp on it too . My girlfriend said it was actually quite impressive. Connecting the phone is a breeze and once the phone's been connected once it'll automatically reconnect the next time the radio turns on(if you use that option) in only a few seconds. I really bought this radio to replace the Skipper 500, but the blutooth's become a major feature for me.

Mine is right in front of the gauges, and I also don't get any echo unless I really crank the volume. It's nice and clear. I haven't messed with any settings.

Here's a link to Taco Bills how to for the Alpine , but this part is the same no matter what type the unit is. You put it in line to the sub woofers to drop the voltage so they don't pop when they turn on. If you talking about the overhead center console with lights , it just pulls off like most of the interior parts on these cars ...

See my edit in that thread. I found it's alot easier to solder in a 1.5k resistor than mess with 3 wires on the voltage regulator.

Ok...it works great but no subs....plugged in the RCA's to the subs and nothing.
Plugged them into the back speaker RCA's and nothing.
Its like they arnt getting any power. All the other speakers work.

FOund out the blue and white striped wire is the power to the subs....
No matter what it says about being a remote control wire. Just soldier it to the other blue and white striped
wire and your good to go.

You turned on the subwoofer output in the Audio menu, right?
