I followed your wiring, actually. I haven't paid real close attention, but it sure seems that I'm getting the low range out of the door subs. I plugged into the left subwoofer output on the back of the stereo. Your adapter may be defective. You may want to check and make sure you have it connected to the correct output. Of course, you could always change to the right subwoofer out and see if that fixes it.

So you plugged both L/R sides on the Y to the L/R sides of the subwoofer outputs on the back of the stereo?
Next time I'm bored, I'll pull the deck out and switch the Y over to the Red cable, and will also try just plugging both RED/WHT cables off the Crutchfield adapter straight into the radio (no 'Y') and see what happens.

I plugged it in just like you did. Female end of y adapter to white crutchfield harness. Male ends to the white and red subwoofer outs on the back. Sorry, I was a bit confused earlier.

Thanks Steve, glad my sub wiring harness schematic worked for somebody! ![Rollinglaugh](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/rollinglaugh.gif)
Not a priority, but I'll look into mine one of these days.

Taco Bill,
Some head units will actually have problems using a Y to connect 2 outputs. It has to do with their ground paths. If you get sound at all, you have the correct plug. Try taking out the Y and just connecting to the "left" and see what happens. I had to do this for the one in my sig.

Went for a drive today. The door subs are definitely working with being connected the way you did, on my radio.
And man do I love this thing. It really sounds and looks fantastic. It recognized my phone the moment the car turned on, and the bluetooth works great, not to mention, of course, the iPod sounds amazing.

Newegg.com has this stereo for $250, versus $330 at Crutchfield:

Of course, Crutchfield gives you the installation stuff for free, which they say is worth over $50:

I'm just wondering - do you need ALL this extra stuff, or is there some stuff you didn't use?

The dash kit is required. The harness is not required, but if you don't want to cut up your factory harness, you'll need it. That's why I went with them. Plus, they went the extra mile with me and did some checking to ensure it would fit. They weren't quite sure before they actually got them in stock.

No. I just connected everything in the harness, not realizing the dimmer wouldn't work. I never use my dimmer anyway. I find when I dim my interior lights at night, it makes me sleepy.
