Question Need Dead Pedal Mounting Info

Is it safe to screw into the area the dead pedal goes, or are there wires under there?

Thanks
-danny

Don't know about under it, but I would certainly watch the huge wire loom to the left side......

The only thing under the carpet is the factory "dead pedal" which is simply a piece of styrofoam, no wires in that. What pedal are you installing though? I have the Steeda dead pedal and it mounts using a bracket that is screwed to a bolt that is just below that wire loom - nothing goes into the styrofoam (although I had to remove and trim the styrofoam to get my Steeda dead pedal in place properly)

I'm installing the on from Ultimate Pedals. I just screwed into the foam for now. If it loosens, I'll look into a different mounting options.

Thanks,

You could always stick an appropriate sized piece of wood or plastic beneath the carpet and screw into that instead of the foam.

Smooth Ultimate pedals here as well...with flat nubbies...I did add some longer screws for the dead pedal....
