Below is my new Gen II MGW cupholder bezel pictured next to the Gen I model pictured on George's website, to give you some idea of the difference. Mine is satin finish, just like the one pictured.

I don't understand why you can't remove the section between the holes? It would make it feasible to get things out of the cupholders then. I really liked Ver. 1 but I couldn't use it like everyone else and sold it. I'm going to check the size of the water bottles I use to see if they will fit the three inch opening now.

I got mine a few weeks ago, so I'm guessing it's a version 2. The rear hole is definitely bigger than the front hole. The rear hole will fit 16 and 20 oz bottles, medium drink cups from fast food places, my ipod with it's cover on, and a few other things I'm sure. The front hole only seems to be good for a soda can or my cellphone.

I wonder why MGW doesn't utilize the beveled edge of the molded cupholer to free up space. Plus, the bezel would have the effect of looking flush with the rest of the console instead of inset by just a bit.

I'm using the black anodized frame that I bought originally for my 2002. It works, and those security screws keep it there. I'm hoping for fuel doors with the locking mechanism like they used to have.

FYI to all of you loyal MGW fans. While MGW makes a great product and they have great results, UPR in NO WAY "copied" oe "ripped off" their designs. Take a look at all of the Billet accessories companies out there. They almost all look alike. Alot of companies have competition and they are always improving on current designs. UPR (Unlimited Performance Racing) has been around since WAY before alot of you owned Mustangs. They put the first Modular street car in the 10's and have countless records under their belt. I have seen countless cars with UPR products win car show after car show. Does MGW offer a lifetime warranty on ALL of their products? UPR does. So if anybody has an issue we will take care of you. So call our products crap all you want. Bottom line is we are Mustang owners making parts for Mustangs. I have been here for some time now and honestly have hardly ever had an unhappy customer. All we really ever hear about is how they won a car show and such. Any problems were solved the same day.

100% Customer satisfaction and Lifetime warranty means just that.

Bringing a topic up from August 2006 just to advertise UPR ? Isn't that pushing it a bit. I've seen many comparisons between MGW and UPR products and nothing can touch MGW is terms of fit and finish. The products George produces are TOP quality.

In terms of copying I do agree, how many ways can you make A/C *****..

I am not advertising for UPR in any way. UPR had a rough start and alot of rumors and false information has been spread over the years. Personal opinions are fine, but at least let me give you the correct information before you form an opinion. As I said, MGW is an EXCELLENT company. I personally love their shifter. Their billet accessories are nice as well. The way I see it, MGW is another company that makes high quality billet accessories. And they do them well.

Well, UPRs machine work is ok, now if they would just make some sort of finish options available to the parts will STAY looking nice. Every UPR product I have bought over the years looks like crap compared to MGW and Silverhorse once they are a few months old. The UPR parts are unfinished and do not hold up well. If you would offer satin annodized and chrome plated finishes for your parts.....THEN you might have a product line and lasting quality.

Just don't understand UPRs resistance to finishing thier aluminum parts.

As long as you maintain your accessories you will be just fine. These are billet which require you to give them some maintenence from time to time. I have personally been shopping from UPR for over 2 years (before I was ever an employee) and ALL of my billet accessories are as great as when I bought them. We sell a cleaner and polish that will keep your products brand new looking. That is why we offer a lifetime warranty and guarantee. Every now and again a customer will call and tell me about a piece that has lost its "flare". Even after we concluded that it was due to not ever maintaining the item, we still sent him a new one for free.

I'd still insist MGW's products are a cut above UPR's. I have products from both companies and the MGW quality and finish is leaps and bounds above that of UPR. With that said thanks for making the antenna delete cap, a/c caps and the fuse box cover since MGW doesn't.

Hey Marc! Welcome to TMS! Glad to see UPR represented.

As you probably already saw there's been some talk on TMS about UPR accent pieces not standing the test of time. But to be as accurate as possible, I think most will agree that UPR accent pieces are top quality and fit perfectly but just don't last without constant attention which I believe stems purely from UPR not offering parts that are anodized. Most of us here will gladly pay extra for it. When I first got my 06 Mustang I bought the UPR pedals, shifter bezel, door pins, and switch plates. All were quality pieces that fit real nice but ultimately got scratched easily because they were pure billet. (but then I knew that when I bought them so I wasn't surprised) Since then, several companies have offered similar parts that were anodized and I've been slowly replacing the UPR parts with those or with OEM parts as they become available. I know I could keep the UPR part looking new with maintenance (and I was for a while), but with a daily driver I'd rather pay more money up front to never have to do maintenance at all (I haven't done a thing to MGW's e-brake handle that I've had for 1.5 years and it still looks like I just put it on the car). I personally just decided that I just won't buy pure billet pieces anymore. But if UPR offered anodized pieces, I'm sure folks here would buy a lot more. Can you see if UPR can look into offering anodized pieces? Thanks!

Thank you for the feedback. I do agree that anodizing would help. The best I can do is pass this on to the owners. Again, thank you for the tip.

I want to buy a product and not worry about having to maintain it. Thats fine when I buy plants and all but as far as acessories for my car. Meh.

You should deff stress the need to adapt so UPR can continue to be competative.

Guess that was my point. I really DO like the UPR parts. Very high quality design and machine work. The ones that I have had finished are among the best on my car. I EXPECT to pay extra for the upgraded parts but I also expect you will sell quite a few of them. Have been harping on this with UPR for years and have never understood the reluctance to offer what your customers are asking for. The continued denial that it is needed just continues to stress that the company does not understand thier market nor does it wish to. Just a desire to alienate its customers. Makes no sense.
