Ipod option 3??? more from PIE...

Ok, so I've been reading the drama for quite a while now with the PIE interface, and then the Peripheral (and PXPD2).
What always got me was that the PIE had it's issues and you had to wire it into the car, which I didn't really want to do.
The Peripheral on the other hand was just a plug and play unit, but like others have mentioned, you can't use the ipod clickwheel on the new version.
So, just as I'm trying to decide which route to go and looking over the PIE website, I find this... FRD04-IPOD/S. It SAYS it's coming soon. It SAYS it will be plug and play (no wiring electrical). It SAYS that you can choose radio control or Ipod control. Anyone hear anything about this. I'm wanting to go for it, but after all the issues at launch of PIE and Peripheral units, I'm hesitant. It seems like it's the best of both worlds and priced inbetween the two units also. What do you think?

GOOD FIND!!!
Sounds good. I'll be adding this to my future mod list. I've been waiting for something like this. I'm not to worried about it not working since if it doesn't you can always return it for a full refund.

My 06 Shaker 500 only has an AUX button, so I guess it won't work with mine.

I thought the same thing, but if you go to PIE's site, it says AUX/SAT, and 2005-2006 Mustang is listed as compatible...

I think the http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=1027 uses RCA jacks to transmit the audio. I have the Preripheral unit, it started causing my dash to display some erratic messages. I contacted Peripheral and they sent me a replacement unit. I installed the replacement on Friday so I don't know for sure if the erratic messages will come back, only time will tell I guess.

Any news on this yet. Would love to control the iPod via the radio. I take it that the 05 GT has a suitable Shaker unit?

When this comes out and IF it works I will definitly get this one. The Peripheral one gave me the same error codes so I had to return it. Hopefully this one will work.

Perhaps my wait-and-see strategy will have paid off. I've had the car for over two years now, so it'd be good to see an iPod connection that is both easy and reliable. Please do post back in here if you get one!
