Hope for an auxiliary input adapter
I just got a reply from one of the techs at PIE (Precision Interface Electronics). They're one of the largest manufactures of automotive audio and other adapters. I questioned whether the part they're developing for the current model Ford pickup would work in our 'stangs, this is what I got:
Granted it ain't "now" but it looks like help is on the way at least
I recently got a chance to test the part in a mustang and it works, there's no ETA available at this moment. The part needs to go through the approval process, I will give you an ETA as soon as I get one.
Any idea what kind of input this part will accept? This sounds like good news.

Well, don't get too excited just yet. I've been hearing the same rumors since I bought my '04 F-150 back in late '03. I've gone the FM mod route with the XM Commander in both the truck and the '05 Stang.
They've claimed to be "developing" an adapter for 18 months now.
How hard could it be?
Pretty hard, apparently! :bang:

I researched the aux adapter subject, the new stereo in the Mustang is basiclly the same as the new Ford Focus, Five Hundred, Freestyle, Freestar, F-150, Super Duty; Mercury Monterey, Milan, Montego; and Lincoln Mark LT. The P.I.E. adapter that states, "MUST have the "CD/AUX" on radio" is for the Visteon manufactured CD6. http://www.visteon.com/products/automotive..._music_spec.pdf
