Help! Removing door handle trim
Help! Removing door handle trim
How do I remove the trim around the door handle? I tried just working it off with a door trim tool (plastic) and I'm chicken to put much force into it. I left project with an indentation on bottom side (a liittle gap). I thought it was about to come off but, it got stubborn and I chickened out. Now I don't have a smooth fit on that underside. I want it fixed.
I saw the PDF on whole door panel removal and to me it doesn't explain how to get just this trim piece off.
I sure hope the whole pannel doesn't have to come off.
Thanks aghead of time.

Brandon, Do you recall if it looked like something that could come off without panel removal?
I'd sure like to see more of your car, it seems you've been into about everything on it. I wish this site had a gallery for memeber pics so we could see more memeber rides.

I got as far as taking out the little plate on the inside (behind handle) and removed the torx screw. Most of trim tried popping out, just not at the door handle. Is it connected from inside that requires whole pane removal? Is there a trick I don't know, or just pull like hell!! Just kidding, I ain't doing that.
When I installed my SHR billet handles, we removed the door panels so I could install Moleskin, some sound deadner and the these handles. I recall just that extra effort, not to stress anything but just that little extra and the buckets the handles mount in will snap out and away from the panel itself. You will need to either do this or unhook the cable from the handle as well.
