Was wondering if anyone knew anything about the new Harmon Kardon drive+play ipod interface unit.
I've been monitoring the boards regarding the PIE interface and it sounds like with the latest chip update that it is working fine, but the HK drive+play gives you Ipod like controls & visuals so that you don't have to be looking at your ipod to choose your music.
I know that the Shaker unit in the '05 & '06 is unique and won't work with alot of aftermarket units, but wasn't sure if that was the case here.

No, not here. I looked at the 2006 accessories catalog and noted the Trip Tunes for 2006 Mustang. Anyone know when that is available or if it is already available?
It sounds like it would be entirely compatible and seamless.

 

In looking further at the drive+play wiring diagram, it appears that you would still have to have something similar to the PIE adapter that would connect between the Shaker and the drive+play.

Guess I answered my own question .....still looks like a sharp, safe way to control your Ipod. Will let you know if Santa brings me one!
