OK - I searched for this on the site and see no new news in a long time. Has anyone found or seen upgrade vent rings yet? The chrome isn't bad, but I'd like something a little darker - maybe a gunmetal color!

Thanks.

Try asking Kevin. The dark IUP will have satin vent rings.

Sorry, the dark IUP has the sames chrome vent rings as the satin IUP.
I
t looks like we have to wait for the Shelby GT500 to get the satin rings... does anyone know of any other options?

I didn't like the chrome either so I painted them silver. You could do just as well with any color. I pulled the rings off, then scuffed them, then painted them. After the paint cured, I did a light scuff and cleared them. The cluster was a pain because I had to break some of the plastic welds on the back to get it apart. Once I did that, I masked off the black inside, scuffed the rest, and painted/cleared. Once all was dry, I put it back together and epoxied the cluster bezel back to one piece. Its been over six months now and no problems. Just use high quality materials.

Gnirod1,

Those look really cool. Didn't think the change would be that significant but it really makes a difference. Looks good with the black dash. Nice work!

You could always get Hireman to paint them for you if you are not inclined to do it. His work is impresive with the ponies so I doubt the vents would give him any problems.

Gnirod1: Do you remember the brand and color you used to paint the vent rings? It looks like a spot-on match with the Satin Silver on the steering wheel and A/T shifter!
