Guage Cluster Upgrade Problems

One quick question on your dash woes.
Is the wire missing behind the dash, or behind where the button goes? I'm tearing apart mine to put a stereo in and there was some wires behind the empty buttons and I was wondering if that meant mine was made before they started to try and save money
