Door components

Is there someone that sells adapter plates so install a set of 5 2/4 component speakers behind the factory door panel. The setreo shop around here made a custom plate for the front speakers in my focus just wondering if anyone already makes a kit that is a little chaper.

To get both behind the factory grill, you'll have to be VERY specific about your components as many tweeters won't mount in such little space. You could get the Boston SL80's, which are components already plate-mounted, or you'll have to really do a hack-job installing the tweeters. There isn't enough space between the speakers and the door panel to coaxially mount the tweeters.

I forgot, the Alpine Type X's also come with plates that will allow what you want. I have the 6.5" version in my Trac, and they're quite nice.

there are these 5x7 audiobahn plate speakers. Of course most audiophiles would definitely not recommend audiobahn as they're mostly for newbies.

It looks to be a 5.25" and 1 7/8" tweeter mounted on a plate

I used this plate to mount my 5 1/4" component speakers with a 1" tweeter.
