Hello everyone!

Just curious, is there an in-dash satelite radio that can be installed in my '05? I have the XM MyFi system, mainly for portable use. However, I'd really love to have it in the car as well but not if it means I have to have something sticking out of/on the dash. Thanks in advance for your help.

The newer line of ALPINE indash stereos are Satalite ready.
The lower lines require to buy the XM antenna and the Alpine XM interface unit. Each are 49.00 at BEST BUY.
I just pick up a set for my sons car... The Antenna is a $50.00 Rebate.

Thanks very much Intruder for offering to help. Do you by chance have photos of the installation? I'm trying to visualize what it will look like in the car. I didn't find any products by the various stereo manufacturers that matched the size of the current unit. If I went with one of the Alpine units, it appears as though it will only take up about half the space.

Terk makes a generic receiver (XM1000) that can be added to a number of aftermarket head units. You buy the pieces separately and they plug together. I have a Panasonic head in my car, along with the XM1000 mounted behind the center console, and the antenna on the rear deck between the speakers. I bought a harness and mounting adapter at a local car stereo shop. A number of people who have seen it thought it was a factory install at first.

Are you trying to replace the head unit with an aftermarket? If not, you can get satellite radio installed into your factory stereo unit. I forget how much it is but you could ask your dealer. If you want aftermarket though, as previously mentioned, the new Alpines are compatible with satellite radio. The large face ones look really good in place of our stock units too.
