CD stuck in player
CD stuck in player
Hi everyone,
I put a CD in my player this morning and now it's stuck. It won't play and, in fact, the stock 2005 player doesn't even recognize it! When I press eject, it says "NO CD." Same thing when I press CD. How can I get it out?
Any help is appreciated!
(By the way, I checked out the work instructions and did a quick search, but couldn't find the answer for this issue. Sorry if this is a re-post!)
Thanks!

Sounds like a warranty problem to me...
If you still have the warranty, take it in and tell them the problem and let them give you a new system. I do know there has been a number of issues with cd's skipping and they normally replace the head unit. Are you sure you have not had a skipping issue also in the past?
Good Luck!

I haven't had this problem in my Shaker 500 but I am having this problem in my Mach 460 head unit. It seems when all 6 discs are loaded in the Mach, ejecting becomes a bit of a problem. It "sticks" in between being ejected and fully positioned in the cd magazine. Sounds like that might be the problem with your Shaker. If you happen to have another CD (or something else wide and flat) you could try sticking it into the CD player opening to jimmy the CDs. That's what I do on the Mach whenever a CD gets stuck and it works every time. Of course I bought the '03 with the Mach system used so this is just a makeshift fix until I'm able to put an aftermarket unit into it. If you're still under manufacturer's warranty, might be best to just take it to the dealership.
I'm pretty familiar with electronics and started playing around with the buttons thinking that there would be some combination that would be an "emergency eject." That didn't work, but I found some pretty cool combinations.
Anyway, after scratching my head for a while, I wondered what to do... And remembered the second rule of electronics (the first one is, of course, turn the machine on and off again) which is to hit the device. So I punched it (not too hard) squarely beneath the 12v outlet. The player recognized the CD. So I punched it again and the CD popped out!
It's fixed!!

...and the third rule, we all know, is to drop the problem item from approximately 6 feet to a firm (such as concrete) surface. Care should be used to not damage the firm surface while performing this step...
Well, you were following the steps in order.
Actually, you missed the step where you stand by the problem item, with the technical manual in hand, (so it knows you are educated in it's workings), and chant Ohm's Law at the same time.
Normally, I do this step prior to cycling power to the item. I must admit, I do not allow much time to pass before moving on to the next step though...
