Blue Tooth Cell Kit
Well I just got the blue tooth cell phone kit from ford and it is pretty nice. Tiny mic attaches between the two interior lights and wires directly into the light box with both the switches. The actual pad unit installed just coming out of the side of the front console. Is illuminated at night. Has four buttons. It hooks up to your blue tooth phone wirelessly about 15 seconds once youve entered the car, and you talk through the mic and the caller is heard on your speaker system. It is actually all voice activated, with a lady asking you what you want to dial, etc. It was pretty expensive tho. But I had a bluetooth phone and I love toys. I will hopefully have pics soon, as my cell phone camera is not sending properly. But for those that really like quality handsfree cell kit. This is defenitely nice.
Oh yah, I got the ashtray kit, and my accessory guy hands me the kit, and my wheel lock kits. He says oh we usually dont install those since there so easy. Well the lighter that comes with the kit has its own full lighter. the lighter doesnt even fit properly in the power plug, as it seems it is designed for power and not cigarette lighters. So Now I have to go back and have them either change out the power outlet to make it a lighter. Or I guess they can install anywhere on the center console, I dont know you would think its either got to go where the power plug goes, or there is a particular place the wiring hireness would hook up an actual seperate lighter area.

I also have a bluetooth phone and have been thinking about this kit. My phone (Motorola V710) already has voice recognition. Are you still able to use the phone's voice features... or do you have to program the new kit?

You can use the V710's features but you need to initiate dialing from the phone not the BT kit. And this is likely a good thing since you can not download your phone book into Mobile-Ease. If you want it available through Mobile-Ease you'll need to enter each entry manually into the BT kit.
I use my V710 and my Mobile-Ease all the time. There's a bit of background static but it sure makes talking and driving a lot easier... and safer!
Yes you dial by saying the number or you can add them to the phonebook in the mobile ease kit. I dont need to touch my phone at all. It's in my pocket and I push a button and tell the nice lady who to call. It's awesome I like this bluetooth connectivity.
I too have the mobile-ease bluetooth kit -- installed 3 months ago. I LOVE IT!!!
One question though. Once the phone and the mobile-ease are paired and the radio is off and then you recieve or even try to make a call, the radio head unit display's "phone", but there is no voice coming from the speakers. Even if you try to turn the radio on at this point, it will not come on. This is very frusterating!!
I don't know if my unit was not installed correctly or if this is the way it is. I'm glad someone else has the same unit now.
Let me know if this happens to you too or if it is just mine. Thanks!!

where'd you guys get your kits and how much? I've been waiting for the blasted aux input kit and was going to get a parrot kit - which displays caller id info on top of the other typical stuff.
Thanks!

I read a bit about the Parrot kit. I think the main thing that led me away from that was the fact that their wiring harness is ISO and look somewhat complicated. I suspect as I get older the thought of spending a couple of hours splicing cables has become less and less inviting!

KC?
And why?
thanks again!
P.s. age+wisdom= agree on wires and iso nonsense (hence the reason I'm looking at the ford kit)

anyone experiencing problems with Mobil-Ease pairing with phone? My phone sometimes will say its connected but the lights on the Mobil_ease will not be lit up. When a call comes in, I can open phone (to answer call) and the Mobil-Ease speakers come on and everything functions properly. If I want to place a call, I must dial via the phone, but once the party answers, Mobil-Ease works properly. These things dont happen all the time, its only sporadically when the phone and Mobil_Ease doesnt appear to fully connect each time I enter the car.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Nope... occasionally I have a problem where my phone doesn't want to pair with the Mobile-Ease. Usually when that happens, however, its because of my !@#$%$ Verizon/Motorola V710 and not the Mobile-Ease kit.
