Big Audio Upgrade

New Pictures
Here are the latest pictures. The original shaker 1000 box and the custom fiberglass amp rack are now painted to match the red interior. It is actually ford's torch red. Once the aluminum subs, aluminum amps and chrome capacitors are installed it should be visually stunning. I think that it is going to set off my trunk and sound great. I give JAM audio great credit with the job so far. The final install is going to be on Monday so expect to see the final product then. Until then see pics below

I installed the Pioneer AVH PVD 6800 head unit and it sounds great. Even with the shaker 1000 subs removed and basically in the Shaker 500 format the system is more powerful and hits harder than it did as the factory Shaker 1000. It is going to be insane once the new amps, speakers and subs go in. Don't be fooled though and think that these new double din units just go right in. I had to actually use JB's liquid metal to fuse the factory mounting brackets in place and go through a lot of trouble to measure the placement to get the desired flush mounted fit. The plate they sent in the box to cover up the gap that was left is too small and leaves and opening so I will have to get the car stereo place to make a custom back plate. These units are not a direct drop in like you would think.

I present to you the Shaker 2000 with IUP & Color Accent Upgrade
I have posted a picture of the most impressive part of my stereo upgrade. I pioneer 8" subs in the doors are so powerfull I can feel the concussion against my leg when the bass notes hit. I the Rockford Fosgate 6X8's are very crisp and the TMA Subs in the back are great. The Pioneer AVH 6800 head unit has built in high and low filters and lots of other adustments. I have posted a picture so that you can see what the final product looks like. Let me know what you all think. I think that it is sick to the 10th power....

The car is coming along faster than I expected and I am lucky that I got a grant from the wife to do this job but I had to cut a deal with her by paying for the job out of the raise I am going to get from my promotion November 1st. So basically I am in hock with the wife until December 1st.

Do you have any pics of the pioneer subs and did you solve the grille problem, also are those amps running all the speakers and subs and are they both 4channels. I also did not catch if you were still using the factory amps

I know that on the door subs, he was using just 2 screws to hold it on, with some weatherstripping between the sub/grill to prevent any rattling, and he was running everything off the new amps. It's a nice setup- looks good. I'll have pics of my new stuff coming soon, just waiting on a new amp I got a great deal on. The Kickers in my doors didn't live through Megadeth's newest album (unfortunately neither did my ears, United Abominations IS an abomination )
