I was hoping that there was a specific wire I should take power from.

I ended up taking it from the same place I took power from for ambient lighting.

It works great. I just now need to find a spot to put the camera.

Would the camera work if it was inside the rear windshield at the top? I think the angle of the glass is too steep there and would distort the picture. Not sure how the field of view would be, either. ??

Not a bad idea, but I have a convertible. Besides, if it is mounted there, then the camera wouldn't be able to see any more than I could from the mirror, I would think.

I'm pretty sure I'll put it in the keyhole. I am looking to see if I could put it in the middle of the 3rd brake light. Drill a hole and mount it there?

Here are pics of the mirror in the car.

Even though the camera works, I don't have it mounted anywhere yet.

I went with the keyhole.

I'll be looking at TacoBill's how to install the remote trunk release this week.

Looks great. I was afraid the bigger mirror was going to stick out like a sore thumb, but it really doesn't look bad at all. I"m seriously considering this setup

Here are some more shots of the mirror for you to judge how it looks in the car.

The best solution would be to wire the camera into the factory nav screen, but that is far beyond me. I suspect it couldn't be done anyway.

I didn't opted for the keyhole camera cause I find it's angled too high and was not very helpful to backup near objects as you can't see low enough.

I went with the boyo license plate VTL 425, it has adjustable camera angle

How does it work at night? I had read that the license plate light washes everything out. Not the case?

My camera is a fish eye, so I get a pretty good view. I did angle it slightly down, though.

Cheers
