Which model are you looking at? I believe there are several...
I installed an Alpine IVA-W205 desk in my car a few months ago.
It actually wasn't difficult at all. The most challenging part was building the wiring harness. Most all of the information you need to do this is either contained in Taco Bill's write-up or in the Alpine user manual.

Well the "deck" was on the "desk" at the time...
